MAGIC À LA MANG
In AD, Thomas Mang talks about how to achieve the perfect fusion of architecture, interior design and art.
Whether it’s a new-build project or the refurbishment of an existing property: what matters is the overall tone of the future spaces – and how the balance between functionality and aesthetics creates a sense of holistic harmony.
According to Architectural Digest (AD), Thomas Mang focuses on the personalities of his clients in order to turn a house into a home.
— Architecture & Interior Design for the soul
In his daily work, Thomas Mang focuses on combining architecture, interior design and art consultancy. “Only then,” writes AD, “can room compositions be created that touch the soul.”
— Luxury apartments & elegant townhouses
Whether working on new builds or renovations, THOMAS MANG Studio takes a holistic approach, as demonstrated, for example, in the development of a residential and commercial district on Lake Constance – the Schützinger Höfe.
Originally designed and built by star architect Leo von Klenze, Thomas Mang has succeeded in this special project in creating modern luxury apartments and elegant townhouses whilst maintaining ‘an awareness of the significance and history of the site’.
— Historic architecture & modern new builds
The historical and the modern are harmoniously blended here, thanks to a carefully curated selection of building materials and the preservation of the brick architecture, combined with light-filled new buildings and black timber façades.
AD describes Thomas Mang as a “bridge-builder” who “continues to tell the story of this architectural project.”
