A HOME WITH SOUL

In its 04/2025 issue, CUBE magazine presents a residential project in Munich realised by Thomas Mang Studio.

When designing this flat in north-east Munich, the focus was on atmosphere, materiality and emotional impact. The result is ‘a hideaway of tranquillity and elegance amid the hustle and bustle of the city,’ writes CUBE.

‘From the moment you enter, it becomes clear that the focus is not on the object, but on the experience. The design approach therefore followed a clear idea: to give the space a soul and to create warmth, tranquillity and sensual depth through the materials used.’

Living architecture

The special atmosphere arises from a finely tuned tonality of natural colours. Sand, taupe and beige tones form the ‘calm base’, while accent colours such as deep midnight blue, anthracite and selectively placed terracotta create ‘subtle contrasts’.

The CUBE magazine for architecture and modern living, which is published in eight German cities, goes on to say: ‘Handcrafted Murano fittings and bronze handles lend the apartment a subtle elegance, with every handle and finish appearing unique and artistic.’

In the end, according to CUBE, the result was not just a residential object, but a ‘lively living space’.
