INTERIOR DESIGN
A fascinating luminaire has emerged from the long-standing collaboration between THOMAS MANG Studio and the Paris-based Cinabre Gallery: LIAISON appears in the room as a fusion of material haptics and immaterial atmosphere.
The combination of alabaster and brushed bronze brings together Thomas Mang’s precise architectural language with Cinabre’s deep understanding of fine stone and cast materials. The result: an object that effortlessly combines function and aesthetics.
• Bronze with a fine, handcrafted texture
• Light as an immaterial layer creating depth in the room
• Architectural clarity in form and effect
A Fusion of Light and Space
With LIAISON, light is transformed into form and bronze into movement. The luminaire is the result of a creative dialogue spanning several years, in which craftsmanship and architectural thinking have come together to form a unified expression.
LIAISON is not intended as decoration, but as a spatial sculpture that defines depth, transitions and atmosphere within a room.
Clarity in Architecture & Design
Thomas Mang blends architecture, interior design and art consulting into a cohesive spatial whole. In LIAISON, he translates the interplay between the tactile quality of bronze and the intangible dimension of light into a clear form.
In this way, LIAISON becomes a link between structure and atmosphere, an expression of architectural clarity and emotional presence.
Casting art from Paris
In its Parisian workshops, the Cinabre Gallery crafts furniture and lighting that translates the traditional craft of bronze casting into a contemporary aesthetic.
In its foundry, each piece is created using specially handcrafted moulds in a meticulous process that combines an in-depth understanding of materials with precise craftsmanship, bringing out fine textures and organic structures.
In collaboration with THOMAS MANG Studio, this mastery forms the basis of LIAISON: Cinabre’s nature-inspired casting technique lends the luminaire its material depth and authenticity, whilst Mang’s architectural understanding of proportion and space gives it a clear, sculptural presence.
Light as timeless design
“Timeless design is all about striking the right balance between materials, space and effect,” says Thomas Mang. “With LIAISON, we have given clear form to the interplay between the sensual quality of bronze and the atmospheric dimension of light.”
